NICL land scam: No role of ex-commerce secretary

The news of the indictment of former commerce minister Amin Fahim along with 11 others in the National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) land-scam case was reported on Saturday. The name of Suleman Ghani, the former commerce secretary, was included in this news without clarifying that he was only named in the matter of the appointment of Ayaz Niazi as Chairman NICL and no accusation of being involved in the land scam or any financial wrongdoing has been made against him. This lack of clarity is regretted.
