Trigger happy? Motorcyclist shot and injured by police
Operations DIG Dr Haider Ashraf directed Model Town SP Captain on Monday to investigate the incident
LAHORE:
A motorcyclist was injured after policemen shot at him on Sunday.
Zamran, the victim, said that he was returning home on his bike when the incident occurred. “Two policemen signalled me to stop near FC College. However, I did not stop as I did not have the motorcycle’s registration papers on me at that time. They fired several shots in my direction. I was hit by a bullet and fell down from the bike. The policemen fled,” Zamran said.
FC College Chowki Incharge SI Ramazan said: “We visited the scene on hearing about it. We collected forensic evidence,” he said.
Operations DIG Dr Haider Ashraf directed Model Town SP Captain (r) Mustansar Feroze on Monday to investigate the incident.
Talking to The Express Tribune, Feroze said that there was no sanctioned picket in the area where the incident had occurred. “We are investigating the incident from all angles,” he said.
