The way forward: Swabi nazim vows to make positive impact

The Swabi district nazim held his first press conference after being elected and announced that he was prepared to meet the needs of various localities.
Ameerur Rehman said on Monday morning that members of the district council would be provided equal development funds and promised positive changes in the Health and Education departments as well as others. He said all the work would be completed in accordance with the local government legislation.
He vowed to eradicate corruption permanently.
Meanwhile, the Swabi district council demanded through a resolution that duties be handed over to the district government in accordance with law and constitution of the LG legislation. It asked the provincial government not to interfere in the 24 departments and release development funds as soon as possible.
The demands were put forward in the first conference after district nazim elections. The meeting was held under the supervision of Haji Asar Khan, the convener of the council.
Finally, the resolution was submitted by councillor Yasir Zaman. Council member Azizullah was appointed as leader of the house, while Salim and Yasir Zaman were made presiding officers.
He said the process of Class-IV recruitment must be done based on merit. He pointed out that only people from influential families get appointed usually.
