PESHAWAR:

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan terminated former K-P Minister for Mines and Mineral Department Ziaullah Afridi’s party membership on Monday and said investigation against other members are under way.

During a press conference at Bani Gala, Islamabad, the PTI chief publicly announced the termination of Ziaullah’s membership. He added investigation was under way against Senator Azam Swati, MPA Yasin Khalil and Arif Yousaf.

With Ziaullah’s sacking, other party members are fearing for their position and want to clear their names at the earliest.

Talking to The Express Tribune, Special Law Assistant to K-P Chief Minister, Arif Yousaf, said Afridi should have resolved his issue in a legal manner. He added using abusive language against party leaders on the assembly floor was a mistake.

MPA Yasin Khalil said he approached the party chief and would clear any misperceptions about himself. The MPA said he respected party’s decisions and would never disturb discipline.
