Pakistan Cables: Board shuffled after share sale
Pakistan Cables announces changes to board of directors following acquisition of share in GK Technologies.

Pakistan Cables has announced changes to the company’s board of directors following the acquisition of a 24.6 per cent interest in the company by GK Technologies – a subsidiary of US-based General Cable.
According to an official release issued here on Monday, Executive Vice President General Cable Corporation Roddy Macdonald and President of Philippine-based Phelps Dodge International Incorporated Ernest K Cuyegkeng have been appointed as directors of the company with effect from November 23.
Both Macdonald and Cuyegkeng are nominees of General Cable Corporation.
“The appointments will bring considerable international experience and expertise with regard to the cable industry to the company,” said General Manager Fahd Chinoy while talking to The Express Tribune.
MacDonald has served with General Cable in various roles since 1999, including overseeing global sales and business development. He has also served for 25 years as an officer in the British Armed Services and ended his career as Brigadier General.
Ernest K Cuyegkeng has held various senior business positions in the Philippines, including president of Phelps Dodge Philippines, director of A Soriano Corporation and Arthaland Corporation, treasurer of Anscor Insurance Brokers Incorporated and chairman of AFC Fertiliser and Chemical Inc.
Pakistan Cables was established in 1953 and has been listed at the Karachi Stock Exchange since 1955. General Cable is a Fortune 500 company and a leader in the copper, aluminium and fibre optic cable industries. Phelps Dodge International is part of General Cable’s international network of companies.
