Fatal: Man injured in fight dies
Police said Durrani had been suspended from service over corruption charges
LAHORE:
A man injured in a fight with his employer died at a hospital late on Friday night. Faheem Ashraf, 27, was employed as a driver at the house of Kalsoom Durrani, a former Education DDO. Police said they were also partners in a business but had developed differences and were not on good terms. Earlier in the week, Durrani’s children and some neighbours had intervened to stop a knife fight between them. Both had sustained severe wounds in the fight. They were rushed to a hospital where Ashraf died on Friday night. Doctors treating Durrani said she was in a critical condition. Police said Durrani had been suspended from service over corruption charges. Ashraf’s body was sent to a morgue for an autopsy. Police had earlier registered a case against the deceased on charges of attempted murder. They said they had received no request for registration of a case against Durrani.
