Sindh Rangers claimed on Saturday to have apprehended at least 10 ‘target killers’ belonging to political parties from different areas of Karachi, Express News reported.

According to a Rangers spokesperson, "at least six of the arrested were part of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Muhajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi group."

While the suspects confessed to having committed a number of heinous crimes, arms were also recovered from their possession, the statement added.

On Thursday, four MQM activists were killed in an encounter near the Northern Bypass after which the MQM called for shutter down strike in the city.

Later, the MQM held a press conference in which it announced that the suspects belonged to the party and they were killed in an ‘extrajudicial’ manner. However, Rangers officials termed the claims ‘baseless propaganda’ and labelled the party’s allegations an attempt to mislead everyone.
