Many Pakistani artists are making waves across the border and Bollywood insiders agree it's because they are hugely talented.

According to a recent report published in Hindustan Times, Indian trade analysts believe Bollywood filmmakers are quite impressed with Pakistani stars. "Pakistani shows are popular in India and the actors are building their fan base. Filmmakers are encashing on this. Roping in these actors invites media attention," Hindustan Times quoted trade analyst Atul Mohan as saying.

Mudassir Aziz, who will be directing Momal Sheikh in Anand L Rai's next, believes that the exchange of talent across the border increases productivity. "Working together is wonderfully educative. We crack some stereotypes in their approach to cinema and they shatter some in ours," he said.

However, not everyone has a positive outlook on cross-border talent acquisition. Another trade analyst, Amod Mehra sees it as a matter of increased remuneration. "The money that the actors are offered in India is much higher than in Pakistan. That is why they look for projects here," he said.

He also believes that "visa issues" can affect the production. "There are actors who have not been able to return to complete a film because of visa issues. That can hamper a project."

Apart from Momal Sheikh, Mahira Khan, Atif Aslam, Fahad Mustafa and Mawra Hocane are set to make their Bollywood debut soon.
