Cyber Crime: Man arrested for blackmailing doctors

Police said Wahab would demand Rs15,000 to Rs30,000 from the doctors

LAHORE: CIA police arrested a man on Wednesday for harassing lady doctors using social media. Abdul Wahab was arrested from Naran. He had gone underground after Gowalmandi police had registered a case against him on the complaint of Young Doctors’ Association leader Salman Kazmi. Police said Wahab would start talking to lady doctors and nurses on various social media websites. He would later extort money from them saying that he would make their conversations and pictures public if they did not pay him. Police said Wahab would demand Rs15,000 to Rs30,000 from the doctors. He has confessed to blackmailing a number of doctors at Ganga Ram, Mayo and Children Hospitals.
