Five terrorists killed in Swat clashes

Security forces retaliated to an attack by militants who had been released from jail three days ago.

SWAT:

Five terrorists were killed and three security personnel were injured during clashes in Swat early on Monday.


Two men were stopped at a  checkpost in Kalam but they opened fire. Security forces retaliated and killed both the terrorists.


The terrorists killed have been identified as Zarqavi and Norul Huda, who were released from prison three days ago.


In another incident in Sardan area of Matta, some unknown people opened fire on a military convoy. After this, security forces cordoned off the area and  started a search operation and three militants were killed in the following raids.


Security forces have been continuing operations in the northwestern regions of the country. On Saturday, at least 40 militants were killed when gunship helicopters pounded their hideouts in Mohmand.
