Road Accidents: Govt to compensate for death, injuries
In the case of loss of leg at or above the knee, the government will compensate with Rs60,000

The Sindh law department has drafted a bill to compensate for death and other injuries in cases of road accidents. The bill will be moved in the Sindh Assembly to make the law in order to bring compensation at par with the Punjab government. The ‘provincial motor vehicles (amendment) bill, 2015,’ states that, in the case of a road accident that claims the life of any person, the victim’s family will be given Rs250,000 in compensation. Meanwhile, the government will give Rs65,000 to a commuter who loses an arm at or above the elbow. Below the elbow, the compensation will be Rs50, 000. In the case of loss of leg at or above the knee, the government will compensate with Rs60,000. However, Rs140,000 will be given in the case of loss of both legs.
