PESHAWAR:
All Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Workers Union took to the streets over illegal appointment made in Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco). Protesters gathered outside Peshawar Press Club and shouted slogans against the hiring process.
They also demanded that employees should be appointed under Wapda Employee’s Son’s Quota.
Speaking on the occasion, the union’s provincial deputy chairman, Ali Saeed, said they will continue to protest until their demands are met.
“The children of deceased Wapda employees should be hired,” he said. “This would be a more viable option.
At this stage, incompetent officials should not be hired and preference should instead be given to the children of employees.”
