Quetta police arrest man possessing hundreds of Pakistani, Afghan identity cards
Tajuddin impersonated as assistant director of ECP to provide foreigners with CNICs and other documents

Only a day after Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan vowed ‘indiscriminate action’ against NADRA officials providing identity cards to foreigners, a man possessing hundreds of Pakistani and Afghan identity cards in Quetta.
According to Gwalmandi station chief Abdul Qadir Baloch, Tajuddin, son of Mohammad Haq and resident of Pishin district was nabbed in a raid. Baloch added that they discovered 500 computerised and old national identity cards, certificates from various districts of the province, Afghan Citizenship Cards, domiciles and other counterfeit documents.

“The accused was operating a large network and used to arrange identity cards for illegal immigrants from Afghanistan in very short times, which suggests he had very strong links with NADRA office.”
Baloch added that the suspect was currently being interrogated were investigating if the accused had any links with terror outfits and is being interrogated to reveal any other collaborators of the suspected gang.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, interior minister had categorically stated that the elements involved in jeopardising country’s security will be brought to justice.
“Elements involved in defaming NADRA do not deserve any concession,” he had said.
