QUETTA: Security forces foiled a major terror bid, seizing three vehicles laden with a large cache of explosive material near the Pak-Afghan border on Wednesday. They also arrested three suspected militants.

According to security sources, three terrorists were carrying a large amount of explosive material and mortar shells from neighbouring Afghanistan when they were intercepted by the law enforcement agencies in Muslim Bagh, a town of Qilla Saifullah district in Balochistan, bordering Afghanistan.

“During the checking approximately 3,800 kilogrammes of explosives and 10 mortar shells were seized from three vehicles,” the sources said, adding that three terrorists were also rounded up.

The paramilitary forces did not disclose the identities of the held militants and shifted them to some unidentified location for questioning.
