Court to hear promotions’ case after Eid
The bench had remarked that it was conscious of the matter and it would not let the case get prolonged
ISLAMABAD:
A division bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday decided to take up a case pertaining to promotion of bureaucrats after Eid as detailed judgment by a single bench has yet to come.
In the absence of a detailed judgment, arguments could not be made, observed the bench and adjourned the hearing till after Eid.
The bench comprising Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Aamer Farooq, at a previous hearing had issued notices and sought reply from all the respondents, maintaining status quo in the case.
The court had directed the respondents’ counsels to ask their clients, if they would like to be considered for promotions in the annual meeting of the Central Selection Board scheduled for later this month or they would wait for the final order in the case and miss the opportunity.
It had also emerged that the board could consider anyone who was not considered previously.
The bench had remarked that it was conscious of the matter and it would not let the case get prolonged.
