Intrusion : Encroachment on Sindh University land

Despite our efforts, these influential people are not willing to evacuate our land

KARACHI:
The Sindh University vice-chancellor Prof Dr Abida Taherani sought the help of the anti-corruption department to evacuate encroachment on 2,000 acres of university land. In a letter addressed to the anti-corruption chairperson, she said that the provincial government allotted around 8,500 acres to the varsity in 1952, out of which 2,000 acres was illegally occupied by the land mafia, police, builders and revenue officials etc. “Despite our efforts, these influential people are not willing to evacuate our land,” Taherani said.
