Women bear brunt of conflict

Women bear the consequences of conflicts, including torture, sexual harassment, family separation, disappearance, displacement and consequently suffer lifelong social and psychological trauma. Therefore women have special needs and vulnerabilities that need to be considered in any context, but particularly during and after a conflict. This was the crux of a report titled, ‘Women and the FATA Conflict: Unfulfilled Promises”, launched on Tuesday. It was compiled by the Community Appraisal and Motivation Programme (CAMP), a NGO.
