PPP decides to support democracy

So far, we have to stand up against aggressive mode of governments

KARACHI:
After its two-day deliberations in Dubai, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has decided not to take such steps which can destabilise democracy in the country.   The meeting chaired by PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari evolved consensus that the party would prefer to endure ‘repressive actions’ by the federal government and its agencies rather than tendering resignations and destabilising democratic setup. “So far, we have to stand up against aggressive mode of governments and its institutions in democratic way by raising these issues in parliament, and before the courts rather than dragging the issues on roads,” said Zardari while addressing the leaders.
