ISLAMABAD:

A seven-member Pakistani textile delegation, led by the counsellor of Danish embassy, Assar Qureshi, left for Denmark on Tuesday to explore business opportunities and seek partnerships with entrepreneurs there.

This first of its kind visit has been organised and supported by the trade council of the embassy of Denmark in Pakistan in collaboration with the Danish Fashion and Textile Association, said an embassy statement.

“We want to ensure that both Danish and Pakistani companies can find partnership opportunities and avail maximum benefits from these windows of opportunities,” said Qureshi.

The trip, he said, was expected to be the first round of more such visits of business delegation in future, not only from Pakistan, but also from companies based in Denmark.

The export of textiles constitutes almost 10% of Pakistan’s gross domestic product and is also the mainstay for exports to Denmark.
