Under fire: Two gunned down in DI Khan
They have been shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation
DI KHAN:
At least two people, including a police constable, were killed during a shooting incident within the jurisdiction of Cantt Police Station in DI Khan on Monday. According to a police official, Zeeshan Haider, a police constable and his friend, Nazakat Hussain, were travelling on a motorcycle near Lalazar Colony when unidentified assailants opened fire on them. “Both men were critically injured and rushed to District Headquarters and Teaching Hospital DI Khan where they succumbed to their injuries,” he said, “The attackers managed to escape the crime scene.” An FIR has been registered and police are searching for the assailants. In a separate incident, three proclaimed offenders who were wanted in several murder cases were arrested in Gara Akhunzada. A police official told The Express Tribune that Bakhtawar Bibi, Anamullah and Ramzan had gone into hiding for some time. “They were arrested after we were able to trace their whereabouts,” he added. They have been shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.
