Football: PIA climb to second place

Shakir Lashari ensured Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) second place in the Pakistan Premier League after they defeated champions Wapda 1-0 in Karachi. Lashri netted the match-winning goal in the 65th minute as Wapda failed to equalise.
With the win PIA replace Khan Research Laboratories with 56 points after 29 matches. Meanwhile, Habib Bank Limited (HBL) earned a walkover against Pakistan Navy, who chose to participate in the National Games instead of the PPL. HBL were awarded three points and three goals on the table, to now sit 13th place with 25 points, while Navy hold eighth position with 42 points.
