FAISALABAD:

The Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) has procured 4,500 water supply and sewerage meters from France to check water pilferage in Faisalabad, Wasa MD Syed Zahid Aziz told journalists on Monday.

He said the meters would be installed in various locations in the city under a phased programme. “The idea is to regulate water supply along scientific lines.” Under the first phase, the new meters would be installed in Shehbaz Nagar and other localities near Daewoo Road. He said the project would kick off on November 15.

The MD added that Wasa had started a survey to collect data on consumers and had gathered data on 25,000 consumers in Faisalabad so far.
