Commonwealth Youth Games: Talha Talib bags silver medal for Pakistan

According to PWLF vice-president Muhammad Rashid the youngster bagged the medal in the 55kg weight category

ISLAMABAD:
Pakistani weightlifter Talha Talib has clinched a silver medal in the Commonwealth Youth Games underway at Samoa.

According to Pakistan Weightlifting Federation (PWLF) vice-president Muhammad Rashid who is also the chef-de-mission of the Pakistan contingent at the Games, Talha bagged the medal in the 55kg weight category of the mega event.

He said Pakistan was contesting in four disciplines in the Games including boxing, weightlifting, squash and tennis.

He said the Youth Games would continue till September 12.


PWLF president Mian Muhammad Aslam, has also congratulated Talha for getting a silver medal in the Games.

Pakistan’s 13-member contingent, comprising tennis, boxing, squash and weightlifting players, accompanied by five officials arrived for the 2015 Commonwealth Youth Olympics in Samoa on Wednesday.

The weightlifting squad is made up of Taha, Muhammad Usman, Abdul Rehman and manager Rashid.
