Depleting resource: Lahore losing ground water reserves
A vast expansion of urban areas has reduced the ground water resources of the city

Climate change and overexploitation of sub-soil water resources are lowering in water table at alarming level in big cities especially in Lahore. Talking to APP on Sunday, Dr Sajid Rashid Ahmad, Principal, College of Earth and Environmental Science University of the Punjab, said that Ravi River replenishes groundwater reserves in Lahore. However, a vast expansion of urban areas has reduced the ground water resources of the city.
