Twitter Alert: Jason Mraz is engaged

Tweeting was what Mraz and his fiance Tristan Prettyman did right after getting in a formal relationship.

Twitter is becoming a platform for many celebrities to spread the news of their weddings and breakups.

Last week it was Elizabeth Hurley who used Twitter to announce her breakup with Indian husband Arun Nayar, and this week it’s Jason Mraz who has just shared the news of his engagement with singer/songwriter girlfriend on the microblogging site, reported AceShowbiz.com. Tweeting was what the singer and his fiance Tristan Prettyman did right after getting in a formal relationship. “She said yes,” Mraz tweeted. “For once I am speechless. I did good! Man of my dreams! For the rest of my life!” Prettyman posted on her Twitter page.

What flashed across Twitter this week was the false news of Aaron Carter’s death due to drug overdose. “Aaron Carter is alive and well at my compound in Orlando, rehearsing for a New Year’s show,” Carter’s manager, Johnny Wright said in a statement rubbishing the rumours about his death. Since it all started on the social networking site, the former teen sensation brought the controversy to an end by tweeting himself. “This is the real Aaron Carter. I know there’s a hoax going around, but I’m here, alive and well. At the compound, working on my mind and soul,” he wrote.

Around Bollywood, most of the stars tweeted in Christmas spirits.
