PESHAWAR:
A special police unit of the counter-terrorism department foiled a terrorist bid and arrested three suspects in Badara area of the city on Saturday. According to a handout issued by the department, the suspects have been identified as Noorullah, Hidayatullah and Sanaullah. “They were travelling in a car and were caught within the jurisdiction of Mathra police station,” read the statement. “A five-kilogramme remote-controlled explosive device was also recovered from their possession.” The handout added the police had received an intelligence report about the suspects. “The department has reasons to believe the three men were involved in attacks on polio teams and the police,” it added.
