PESHAWAR:

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MPA Yasin Khalil said he cannot imagine violating party discipline and is fully committed to its cause.

Speaking to The Express Tribune, Khalil said he has been accused of harming party interests due to a misunderstanding.

“I backed party nominees for Peshawar nazim and naib nazim berths,” he said. “I am a senior worker of the party and my contribution is known to all.”

Khalil maintained he has not received any show cause notices and that he learnt about action being taken against him through the media.

“On August 30, the parliamentary committee had not awarded tickets to any nominees until 7am,” he said. “Some party workers came to my house to inform me about the decision. However, they awarded the tickets to someone else.”

He said the committee did not hand tickets to those he was supporting yet he directed everyone to vote for the party nominees.

“Earlier, I had even persuaded eight independent candidates to vote for the district nazim candidate and four for town nazim.” Khalil maintained he and his supporters respect all party decisions and will never violate the rules.
