Good opportunities for enhancing trade exists between Pakistan and Iran, but traders on both sides are reluctant to interact due to sanctions on Iran - an issue that is expected to be resolved soon, said Tehran Chamber of Commerce’s Industrial Committee Head Mehdi Pour Ghazi.
Ghazi was leading a delegation during a visit to the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), which inquired about Pakistan’s customs tariffs and how the KCCI could help in a smooth transportation of Iranian goods to Pakistan.
KCCI President Iftikhar Ahmad Vohra said the economic sanctions, along with hurdles in the way of opening letters of credit and lack of proper banking facilities, affected trade between the two countries, but the situation would improve in a few months.
