The Sindh High Court (SHC) directed the provincial advocate-general on Friday to file comments on the alleged illegal bifurcation of the electoral constituencies in the Mirpurkhas division, which is home to a majority of the members of the Hindu minority.

The Sindh High Court (SHC) directed the provincial advocate-general on Friday to file comments on the alleged illegal bifurcation of the electoral constituencies in the Mirpurkhas division, which is home to a majority of the members of the Hindu minority.
Headed by Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, the bench fixed different petitions involving the same controversy on September 8 for a joint hearing. Two petitions were filed by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement through its leaders Syed Sardar Ahmed and Tariq. The petitioners said they had filed objections against the inclusion of some rural areas of the Tando Adam Municipal Committee to the Shahdadpur Municipal Committee. The second petition challenged ending the Mirwah town committee to create the Shujabad Municipal Committee. Another petition filed by advocate Mureed Ali Shah challenged the delimitations in Naushero Feroze.
