Cuffed: CTD arrests four suspects

The Counter-terrorism department arrested three proclaimed offenders in the city who were wanted in various cases of murder and attempted murder.


According to a handout issued by the department on Friday, Akhtar Zaman, Afsar Zaman and Mujahid were arrested from cantonment area and had been on the run for the last couple of years.


“All of them are residents of Urmar situated on the outskirts of the city,” read the statement. “They have been shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.” Meanwhile, CTD Kohat arrested the suspected ringleader of a gang of extortionists in Hangu.

According to a handout issued by the department, Muhammad Kashif was arrested during a raid conducted on his house.

“The suspect was accused of planting two hand grenades on the house of Zahid,” stated the handout. “Kashif had demanded Rs3million in extortion. He is also the member of a banned militant outfit.”
