Father of the nation: Quaid’s birth anniversary celebrated

Main event held at the Quaid’s mausoleum in Karachi with the change of guard.

ISLAMABAD:
The 134th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was celebrated across the country on Saturday with a renewed pledge to make Pakistan a modern welfare state.

A number of activities were arranged throughout the country to highlight Quaid’s guiding principles of ‘Unity, Faith and Discipline’ for promoting prosperity, peace and harmony.

The day dawned with special prayers in the country’s mosques for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan and for the departed soul of the Quaid-e-Azam.


The main event was held at the Quaid’s mausoleum in Karachi with the change of guard.

President Asif Ali Zardari visited the mausoleum of the Quaid to pay homage to the founder of Pakistan.

He laid a wreath at the mazaar, offered Fateha and recorded his impressions in the Visitors’ Book. The President was accompanied by Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan.
