LAHORE: Exuding femininity with florals, embroidery, laces and pearls is Farah Talib Aziz’s mid-summer lawn Eid collection titled ‘A Mediterranean Dream’. At an afternoon soiree, the eponymous label launched the line that brought their signature cool and effortless feel to the blazing-hot Lahore summer. This is the brand’s second collection with Lakhany Silk Mills (LSM), the first having been launched this April in Karachi.

Inspired by Mediterranean women, the collection was aptly shot in Turkey with Ainy Jaffri as the face of the brand. According to a press release, Farah said, “‘A Mediterranean Dream’ is inspired by the confidence and passion radiating from Mediterranean women, who exude a particular European charm along with the grace of the classic Ottoman Empire.”

As a design house, Farah Talib Aziz is confident about their brand personality and where they plan on taking it. “Our brand strength lies in the fact that we’re adamant on staying true to our brand aesthetics. Trends come and go but we focus on adapting  them to our themes. We’re particular about each design and would never create something we don’t absolutely adore and wouldn’t love to wear ourselves,” shared Maliha Aziz of Farah Talib Aziz.

The colour palette features pastels, better suited for daytime. It ranges from lilac to dusty pink to soothing yellows to sky blues, which are offset by detailed embroidery and bursts of colour. But despite the colours being light in shade, the fabric is such that the clothes don’t appear to be see-through. An otherwise low-key brand that doesn’t take part in fashion weeks, its collaborations with LSM are a step towards establishing a commercial base while keeping the spotlight at bay.

Whether it’s prêt or bridal couture, the brand’s signature aesthetics of floral motifs and feminine colours run through all the pieces, making this collection not starkly different from the preceding one in terms of design. But there’s no denying the feminine appeal and girly glamour of Farah Talib Aziz lawn. The line features seven designs in two colours each and is priced between Rs6,000 and Rs6,500. It will be available in stores from September 5.
