The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday directed the Rangers and other authorities concerned to conduct magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) test of the chairman of the Sindh Higher Education Commission and former petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain, who is currently under 90-day detention of Rangers for interrogation related to terror financing.
Headed by Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, a division bench passed this direction while disposing of a petition filed by Dr Zareen Hussain, who went to court seeking medical care for her husband.
The bench, however, directed the petitioner to file a separate petition if she wanted to challenge his arrest. An assistant director of the Rangers told the bench that necessary medical care was being provided to Dr Hussain, who was in good health.
