Sacrificial animals: Eight markets to be set up in Rawalpindi

The district administration has made preparation to set up eight markets from next week in Rawalpindi for the sale of sacrificial animals.



District Livestock Officer Dr Muhammad Yaqoob said that sale of animals in the streets, animals beyond one year would only be allowed.


The authority has permitted slaughter of female animals-cows and buffalos- in streets temporarily. However, slaughter of female animals in slaughter houses will be banned.


A temporary veterinary hospital will be set up in every sacrificial animal market.


The animal markets will be established at Chungi 22, Adiala Road, Chur Chowk, Supreme Court Colony, Bagh-e-Sardaran, Rawat, Highway and Sadiqabad on Khanna Road.
