Avoiding red tape: Faisalabad to get a Citizens’ Facilitation and Service Centre
Facilitation offices of several departments will be housed here
FAISALABAD:
A Citizens Facilitation and Service Centre is being built at a cost of Rs78.743 million over eight kanals near the Yadgar-i-Shuhda police station and the General Bus Stand.
The idea is to provide services of several government departments under one roof.
DCO Noorul Amin Mengal visited the site and inspected the pace of construction work on Thursday. He told officers of the relevant departments to monitor the quality and pace of construction work regularly. He said the project must be completed in four months instead of the initial six month deadline.
Menagl said once completed, the Citizens Facilitation and Service Centre would allow for prompt delivery of services. He said facilitation offices of various departments would be under the same roof.
Citizens could apply for birth certificates, character certificates, death certificates, marriage certificates, divorce certificates, domicile certificates, token tax, CNICs, transfer of property, Motor Vehicle Registration, Motor Vehicle Transfer of Ownership, Route permits, learners driving licences and NADRA Sahulat. He said they would also be able to deposit traffic fines at the centre.
The DCO said that the government was working on developing an innovative system for prompt departmental service delivery.
Khawar Hafeez, the coordinator of the project, said this would help simplify several bureaucratic procedures.
