An eight-year-old boy was sexually assaulted in Shah Maqsood UC, Haripur, police officials told The Express Tribune on Thursday. ASI Gulzeb Khan, the investigation officer of the case, said a medical report confirmed the offence.

An eight-year-old boy was sexually assaulted in Shah Maqsood UC, Haripur, police officials told The Express Tribune on Thursday. ASI Gulzeb Khan, the investigation officer of the case, said a medical report confirmed the offence.
According to a Sara-e-Saleh police official, eight-year-old Haziq* was playing in the street when Akhtar Shah asked him to get a cigarette for him from a shop. The boy went to Shah’s home to give him the cigarette.“When he got there, Akhtar locked him in a room and sexually assaulted him. Shah also repeatedly thrashed the minor and he eventually fell unconscious. He regained consciousness three hours later and rushed home.”
According to the official, the boy returned home and informed his parents about the incident. Haziq’s father registered a case against Shah under Sections 377 and 511 of the Pakistan Penal Code. However, Shah remains at large.
