Star Awards: ‘Breed talent for progress and prosperity’

A published handbook titled “Galaxies of Who’s Who in Pakistan” highlighted achievements of recipients of the award.

ISLAMABAD:
There is an urgent need to invest in the human capital of the country by establishing a Human Resource Development (HRD) Foundation. These views were expressed by the participants at a seminar at the “Star Awards” organised by the South Asia Publications in Islamabad on Saturday. A large number of people, including vice-chancellors of various local universities, attended the event.

A published handbook titled “Galaxies of Who’s Who in Pakistan” highlighted the achievements of the recipients of the award.

The awards aim to promote the outstanding talents of the country. A speaker at the event said, “These awards also aim to galvanise individuals to make them a potent human force in the development process.”

Other speakers underlined the importance of promoting and encouraging the female populace of the country. They said that women were more than half of the country’s population and should be given opportunities to play their role in the “mainstream development”. They should also be given recognition.

The role of the youth in the progress of the country can also not be ignored, a speaker added.
