Donald Trump wants to run against Kanye West in 2020
Trump supports rapper's decision; is of the opinion he inspired Kanye to run for presidency
Kanye West recently announced at the MTV Video Music Awards that he would run for president of the United States in 2020 and has already found a high-profile supporter, Donald Trump.
Trump, the Republican front runner, was interviewed by Rolling Stone and asked for his views on West contesting the presidential elections. Despite their previous animosity and different point of views on many topics, Trump spoke out in support of West running for presidency and was even of the opinion that the rapper’s decision to run was inspired by him.

"I was actually watching, I saw him [announce his candidacy on the VMAs], and I said, 'That's very interesting. I wonder who gave him that idea?'" the businessman said.
That’s not all, Trump also wants to run against West in 2020. "He's actually a different kind of person than people think. He's a nice guy. I hope to run against him someday," he added.
Trump's remarks come as a surprise as he had previously been critical of West, asking for a boycott of him after he had tried to upstage Taylor Swift at the 2009 VMAs. However, despite these positive remarks, the Republican front runner did say that he did not understand the comparisons people made between him and the rapper.
