Alarming Situation: 227 people committed suicide in 2015

Police said in most cases, the cause of suicide was an argument in the family

FAISALABAD:
Statistics gathered from hospitals in the region have revealed that 257 people committed suicide in the first eight months of 2015. According to the record, 995 people – mostly under 25 years of age – had attempted suicide this year. Most of them had swallowed poison, acid, bleach or other toxic substances, hospitals officials said. Police said in most cases, the cause of suicide was an argument in the family.
