Kidnap for ransom: Alleged abductors killed in shootout

Police said the men managed to free Sher and Khan

Two men, suspected to have abducted MPA Rana Jamil last year, were killed in a police encounter near Sargodha on Wednesday morning.



Police said Alim Sher and Nisar Khan had been arrested in Mardan in connection with the abduction of Jamil on May 30, 2014, and brought to Sargodha. Police said Jamil was on his way from Nankana Sahib to Islamabad when his vehicle was waylaid and he was kidnapped. Police said on Wednesday, they were taking the men to a location which they had called their hideout, when some unidentified men ambushed them. Police said the men managed to free Sher and Khan. The police team chased them and an encounter ensued near Bhera Interchange where Sher and Khan were killed.
