KARACHI:
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested a 'fake Tiger Memon' during a raid in the Old City area on Wednesday.
The arrested person was accused of using a fake ID for harassing a girl on a social media networking website.
The arrest was made by the Cyber Crime Circle of the FIA, after a complaint was registered by a citizen, Mohsin, against the accused for harassing a girl on Facebook. The FIA spokesperson said that besides harassing the girl, the accused was also threatening her of dire consequences and was sending her 'immoral and unethical' messages.
FIA officials said that the accused, identified as Furqan Aslam, who was using the name of Ibrahim Mushtaq Abdul Razzak Nadim Memon alias Tiger Memon, who is wanted by India in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, was arrested during a raid conducted by FIA officials at his residence in Joria Bazaar, Kharadar. An FIR No 25/15 has been registered against him for harassing and threatening the girl. The officials have also confiscated his computer and a mobile phone that he was using for harassing the girl and initiated further investigations.
