Sacrificial Animals: Bidding for market site on Sept 9

The same facility was bid out last year for Rs21 million, with over 55 bidding companies

ISLAMABAD:
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Wednesday said auctioning for a temporary cattle market site in the city will be held on September 9. The sacrificial animal market may be set up near Sangjani from Zil Hajj 1 to 13, the authority’s municipal official Mehboob Ahmed said. The same facility was bid out last year for Rs21 million, with over 55 bidding companies. The bid will be held at the fire department headquarters under the director municipal administration. This year’s ‘reserved bid amount’ will be announced soon, Ahmed said, adding that CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal had directed related departments to ensure uninterrupted water supply, street lighting and an ambulance service for the market. The chairman has also directed the directorate of municipal administration and environment wing to ensure that no sacrificial animal is sold in the city other than at the approved site, Ahmed added.
