Local government : Nomination papers for elections now available
The Election Commission has conferred powers of first class magistrate on all ROs from September 1
FAISALABAD:
Returning officers started issuing nomination papers for the local government elections in Faisalabad district on Tuesday.
As many as 53 returning officers (RO) and 106 assistant returning officers (ARO) have been appointed in Faisalabad. According to a press statement issued on Tuesday, the ROs and AROs have completed arrangements for holding elections in the district. According to the elections schedule issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan, nomination papers will be issued in the district till September 6.
Candidates will have time between September 7 and September 11 to submit the papers. The nomination papers will be scrutinised between September 12 and September 17. Appeals or objections against candidates can be submitted till September 22. These appeals will be heard and action on them will be announced by September 30. On October 2, the final list of contesting candidates would be displayed and symbols would be allotted. Elections would be held across the district on October 31.
