Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, have installed a surveillance system at the entrance and exit points of Karachi to control the influx of weapons and narcotics in the city.

Biometric systems and cameras will also be installed at all the entry and exit points, he said. Patrolling in the katcha areas has been made more stringent as the smugglers and criminals are likely to use the alternative routes to avoid arrests.

Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, have installed a surveillance system at the entrance and exit points of Karachi to control the influx of weapons and narcotics in the city.
"The system will scan the vehicles entering the city," said a Rangers spokesperson while talking to The Express Tribune. "The system is installed because of the increasing incidents of terrorism." The system will scan the presence of arms, narcotics and illegal goods, said the official. All types of trucks and containers will be scanned, he added.
The system will be operated by at least four officers, said a Rangers official. Initially three scanning and surveillance systems have been imported from China, he claimed, adding that more are expected to arrive soon.
