The theatrical trailer of Jawani Phir Nahi Ani was proof that the film was overdone with Bollywood masala. And this song is not any different, it adds nothing new aesthetically.
Makers of JPNA recently released the teaser of their second song online. The song Khul Jaye Botal crooned by Indian singer Mika Singh has mandatory terms of any desi club song such as disco deewani, khul jaye botal and party all night. Of course nothing original.
The one-minute video featuring Humayun Saeed, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Ahmed Ali Butt, Vasay Chaudhry and Mehwish Hayat, takes a Bollywood route with the typical club entry, a few studs shaking their legs with Europeans and the arrival of a local beauty who clearly stands out in the crowd (for unknown reasons till date).
As they say practice makes perfect, we would like to appreciate the trio's (Hamza, Vasay and Ahmed) improved skills, one must admit, they got the coordination right.
Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Siddharth Malhotra can take a back seat. We have our own steps for Disco Deewane now.
But we are wondering if we will get to see the quartet repeating their steps in all the songs of the film...
