President Mamnoon Hussain embarks on four-day China visit

President will attend parade of China's People's Liberation Army to be held in commemoration of World War II

President Mamnoon Hussain departed on Tuesday for a four-day visit to Beijing to discuss matters of mutual interest and bilateral relations with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, Radio Pakistan reported. 

The president, along with 30 heads of state will attend the military parade of China's People's Liberation Army, being held in commemoration of World War II.

"A 75-member contingent of Pakistan's Armed Forces will also march along the Chinese army and other foreign troops," Pakistan's Ambassador to China Masood Khalid said.

The contingent has been in Beijing for the past two weeks and is undergoing constant training and rehearsal for the parade.


During the four-day visit, the president will also meet with the executive vice premier and member of standing committee of political bureau of Communist Party.

According to the ambassador, the president will also attend a dinner to be hosted by the Chinese president.

"The president's visit will prove helpful in fast-tracking the development on China Pakistan Economic Corridor," the ambassador said.

The visit is further set to further consolidate the existing "all-weather" relations between Pakistan and China in all areas of importance, especially political, economic and strategic.
