Technical education: TEVTA praised for equipping youth with skills

Memon said the BISP had been providing a stipend of Rs1,500 a month to the deserving people

Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Chairperson Marvi Memon has said that the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) is offering demand-driven short courses to equip the youth with various skills.



Speaking at a meeting at the TEVTA Secretariat, Memon stressed the need for promoting vocational training saying that it was the key to creating employment opportunities.

Memon said the BISP had been providing a stipend of Rs1,500 a month to the deserving people.  “The BISP beneficiaries can apply for technical and professional training in programmes being offered by the TEVTA,” she said.
