KARACHI:
Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah extended the two-year job tenure of 2,120 employees of the national programme for improvement of watercourses. These officials are working in posts ranging from grade 1 to 18. The provincial government has directed the agriculture department to regularise these employees, said the CM House spokesperson. The employees, appointed on contract basis, have been protesting since a few years but have not been granted permanent jobs yet.
