Better healthcare: RIC receives Rs2.62 billion

Free treatment along with medicines to poor and needy patients is being provided

RAWALPINDI:
Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC) has received an amount of Rs2.62 billion from the provincial government for current fiscal year to ensure provision of free medical facilities to citizens. RIC Chief Executive Officer Major General (retd) Azhar Kiani said needy patients were being provided medicines for free at the out-patient department. An amount of Rs1.6 billion was been allocated for provision of free medicines and purchase of equipment, he added. An amount of Rs1.56 billion has been allocated for other expenditure, he said. He informed that free treatment along with medicines to poor and needy patients is being provided according to the set procedure for this purpose.
