HASSANABDAL: The three-day Raksha Bandhan or Rakhi festival celebrations are under way at Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Hassanabdal. Hundreds of members of Hindu and Sikh communities are participating in the festival. Raksha Bandhan is a Hindu festival which celebrates the love and duty between brothers and sisters. Girls tie a thread, called the thread of love, around wrists of their brothers. The festival has been celebrated at the Gurdwara for years. Police and the district administration have taken ample security arrangements at the Gurdwara for the protection of pilgrims.
